ENG – Embark on an engaging cinematic odyssey with films from Lebanese director Jocelyne Saab, presented by Firas EL Hallak from Splinter vzw.
Three impactful (short) films will take over our screen, notably the seldom-seen Palestinian Women, revealing the overlooked stories of Palestinian women amidst the Israeli aggression. Delve into the intimate portrayal of Beirut in 1982 through Beirut My City and explore the Iranian revolution in Iran, Utopia in the Making. Jocelyne Saab’s lens captures unspoken tales, resilience, and the profound reverberations of historical happenings.

NL – Ga mee op een meeslepende filmische odyssee met het werk van de Libanese regisseur Jocelyne Saab. De avond wordt gehost door Firas EL Hallak van Splinter vzw.
Drie korte films met impact, waaronder het zelden vertoonde Palestinian Women, dat de over het hoofd geziene verhalen van Palestijnse vrouwen onthult, midden in de Israëlische agressie. Daarnaast duiken we met Beirut My City in een intiem portret van het Beiroet van 1982 en verkennen we de Iraanse revolutie in Iran, Utopia in the Making. Jocelyne Saabs lens legt onuitgesproken verhalen, veerkracht en de diepe weerklank van historische gebeurtenissen vast.
