Filmed over several years in the Palestinian village of Bil’in, the documentary offers a powerful and intimate account of daily life under occupation and the community’s nonviolent resistance to the construction of the separation barrier. The film is told through the perspective of Emad Burnat, a Palestinian farmer who begins filming the events around him with a simple camera after the birth of his son. Over time, five of his cameras are destroyed while documenting protests, arrests, and the impact of the wall on the village and its people. Each broken camera marks a chapter in a story of resilience, loss, and determination.

Through personal storytelling and raw footage, 5 Broken Cameras reveals the human dimension of a long-standing political conflict and reflects on the power of witnessing and documenting reality.
