DE KOER ZOEKT RESIDENTEN
De Koer organiseert opnieuw een residentieprogramma. Via een open call selecteren we 4 projecten van geëngageerde kunstenaars die voor een seizoen hun praktijk en netwerk aan de Koer willen verbinden. We zoeken residenten die zich vanuit hun artistieke praktijk willen verhouden tot de site, de gemeenschap, de buurt en/of de stedelijke context. De voorkeur gaat uit naar projecten die ingrijpen op het publieke domein, lokale netwerken activeren, (niet-normatieve) verbindingen aangaan met de maatschappelijke context en waar mogelijk de individuele kunstenaarspraktijk overstijgen.
De Koer bouwt sinds 2016 aan een creatie- en ontmoetingsplek in het midden van de Brugse Poort te Gent; een concrete ruimte in de stad als beweeglijk speelveld voor artistieke en sociale projecten. We maken ruimte voor experiment en inspireren tot spel, reflectie en actie. De plek is collectief, duurzaam en voortdurend onaf.

DE KOER IS LOOKING FOR RESIDENTS
This coming season De Koer is once again organising a residency programme. We will select through an open call, 4 residency projects of societally-engaged artists seeking to align their practices and networks with De Koer. We are looking for residents who, through their artistic practice, wish to work in relation with the site, the community, the neighbourhood and/or the urban context in which it is situated. We favour projects that intervene in the public domain, activate local networks, forge (non-normative) connections with the urban context and, where possible, transcend the individual’s artistic practice.
Since 2016, De Koer has been building a hub for creation and social gathering in the heart of Ghent’s Brugse Poort neighbourhood: a physical space in the city that serves as a lively testbed for artistic and social projects. We provide room for experimentation and encourage play, reflection and action. De Koer is collective, sustainable and open-ended.
